Author Guidelines
General Rules
1. The journal accepts submissions in English. All sentences must adhere to proper grammar and spelling rules. Articles can be submitted via https://healthtourismjournal.com/.
2. Manuscripts must not have been previously published or submitted for publication elsewhere.
3. We only accept original research articles and review articles. Your unique contributions are what make our journal a valuable resource. Book reviews are not eligible for submission.
4. Authors must analyze their manuscripts using either Turnitin or iThenticate. The similarity rate must not exceed 15%, and quotations from a single source should be limited to below 3%. The relevant similarity report and signed author declaration forms must be uploaded with the submission.
5. Author information must not be included in the article file. The article’s title, author’s name, affiliations, ORCID number, and contact information should be provided in a separate file. The short title of the article should not exceed 50 characters.
Main Text Guidelines
1. Articles, including all sections, should be between 4,000 and 8,000 words. The editorial board may consider accepting articles that slightly exceed these limits.
2. The article title must be in bold, 12-point font, in all uppercase letters, and aligned to the left.
3. Abstract: The abstract should not exceed 250 words and must be written in Times New Roman with a line spacing 1.15. Additionally, there should be a 6-point spacing before and after the paragraph.
4. Keywords: Please include between 4 to 6 keywords.
5. Titles of tables and figures should be written in bold, 10-point Times New Roman, aligned to the left, with only the first letter of each major word capitalized. The sources for tables or figures should be cited below them in 9-point font.
Reference Guidelines
- The APA (7th edition) in-text citation method must be used. In citations, the author’s surname, publication year, and page number must be included in parentheses (e.g., Yılmaz, 2019: 38).
- For works with two authors, the conjunction “and” should be used between authors (e.g., Arslan and Güleç, 2022: 57).
- Footnotes should only be used for explanatory information, not bibliographic references. Footnotes must be written in 9-point Times New Roman with single-line spacing.
Tables and Figures
- Leave one line space below the table and figure titles, which must be written with 1.5 line spacing. Tables and figures must be placed as close as possible to the relevant sections in the text.
Formulas and Statistics
- Formulas must be left-aligned in the text and placed in a clear area to avoid confusion with tables or figures. Formulas should be numbered on the right as (1), (2), (3), etc.
- Statistical symbols and abbreviations must be explicitly defined upon first use and can be abbreviated thereafter (e.g., regression analysis [RA]).
- Ensure proper use of “dots” and “zeros” for statistical values, as follows:
- For values below 1: p = .05
- For values above 1: F(2, 15) = 0.43
- Refer to the APA 7th edition manual for further details.
Preparing References List
- The reference list must include all sources cited in the text and be arranged alphabetically. Sources not cited in the text must not appear in the reference list.
- References must comply with APA 7th edition style. Leave one line space between references.
- Example for books:
- Single author: Güleç, V. (2005). Sağlık Turizmine Giriş. İstanbul: Ses Yayınları.
- Two authors: Çetinkaya, A., & Demirbaş, M. (2022). Finansal Yönetim. Ankara: Yayınevi.

Publication Ethics and Copyright
- Submitted articles must comply with publication ethics, and proper citations must be provided for all used sources. A copy of the relevant approval document must be submitted for studies requiring ethical approval.
- A “Copyright Transfer Form” signed by all authors must be uploaded to the system. This form declares that all copyrights are transferred to the journal, allowing us to publish and distribute the article, and that no ethical violations exist in the article.
- Authors must declare that their articles have not been published elsewhere and are not under consideration for publication.
- For multi-authored articles, all authors must confirm that they contributed to the article’s writing and share responsibility for its content.
Peer Review Process
- The editor first reviews submitted articles for compliance with the journal’s guidelines. Articles that do not comply may be rejected without proceeding to the peer review process.
- Articles are evaluated through a double-masked peer review system. This ensures the confidentiality of your work. Authors and reviewers do not communicate directly, and identities remain confidential.
- Authors must complete revisions suggested by reviewers within the specified time. Articles will not be published if necessary if revisions are not submitted within the given deadline.
Additional Notes
- Articles published in the journal are intended solely for scientific and academic contributions. Commercial content or articles containing promotional elements will not be accepted.
- Authors are entirely responsible for the content of their published articles. The journal is not responsible for the views expressed in the articles.
- No publication fee is charged for articles.
