Publication Policy of Health Tourism Journal

The Health Tourism Journal (founded in January 2025) follows a rigorous publication policy to ensure academic excellence in the field of health, wellness, and medical tourism research.

Submission Cycles and Deadlines

• Publication Frequency: The journal is published twice a year (June and December). Each issue contains five original articles.
• Deadlines: For the June issue, submissions must be completed by the end of April. For the December issue, by the end of October.

Peer Review Policy (Double-Blind Model)

• Peer Review Process: Manuscripts undergo a rigorous double-masked peer review by a minimum of two reviewers.
• Peer Review Model (Double-Blind): Health Tourism Journal implements a rigorous Double-Blind Peer Review process. The identities of both the authors and the reviewers are kept strictly confidential throughout the entire evaluation. No author information is disclosed to the reviewers, and reviewer reports are sent to authors anonymously.

Step-by-Step Evaluation Workflow

• Initial Screening: Submitted manuscripts are first evaluated by the Editor-in-Chief regarding scope, basic structural compliance, and plagiarism rates.
• Peer Review: Manuscripts passing the initial screening are assigned to at least two independent international experts in the relevant field.
• Revision & Decision: Based on the reviewer reports, the editorial board makes a final decision: Acceptance, Minor Revision, Major Revision, or Rejection. If reviewers disagree, a third independent reviewer is appointed.

Plagiarism Screening

• Plagiarism Screening: All manuscripts are subject to screening via Turnitin or iThenticate. The similarity index must not exceed 15%.

Manuscript Processing Timeline

The journal is committed to providing editorial efficiency and transparency. The average time frames for processing manuscripts are established as follows:

• Average time for initial assessment of manuscripts: 5 Days
• Average time for reviewing manuscripts: 30 Days
• Average time for publishing an article (from submission to publication): 50 Days

Ethical Requirements and Rights

• Ethical Approval: Explicit approval details must be included within the methodology section for studies necessitating ethical approval.
• Publication Rights: All publication rights are vested in the journal. Articles may not be republished without appropriate citation.

Open Access & Archiving Policy

This is an open-access journal, meaning that all content is freely available without charge to the user or their institution. Users are allowed to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of the articles under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial (CC BY-NC) license.
